PoFV and StB English patches released!
Today, we have a doubly important scoop for the entire Touhou community at large! Not one but TWO translation patches have been released: Shoot the Bullet and Phantasmagoria of Flower View!
About a few weeks back, drywall on Shrinemaiden forums released an English patch for Shoot the Bullet. Now that patch has been updated and fixed, and now the latest version is available for download here.

The second translation patch release we have for you today is the brand-new PoFV English patch, brought to us by Rufus, also on Shrinemaiden. It’s still in beta mode, but updates should be coming forthwith. There’s one hitch to patch installation: you have to install the font manually. Ample instructions are provided to help you do this. Regardless, this is still wonderfully good news, as we now have translation patches for both of the remaining Touhou games.

Now all that’s left of the shooters is UFO, and of the fighters, SWR~ And on a personal note, this is my first news post with Gensokyo.org. I look forward to writing with you all!

A few problems with the PoFV patch:
One: not all of the dialogue fits in the text box. You need to make the font size smaller. Example:

I do miss Dead Parrot. My friends loved that. Is it changed to Loser do to the english patch or because of ZUN’s patch 1.50?
StB can get really hard…
Onsokumaru: The “Dead Parrot” thing is still in the Japanese PoFV 1.50. The person who made this patch is a fault for it’s absence.

Also, minor issue that the folks who did the StB patch might wanna look into: check out the size of the config window. Placed next to a large icon on a 1280×1024 resolution screen, for comparison…

UPDATE NOTICE: Rufus just released an updated version of the PoFV patch here, complete with dead parrots available for your choosing (just select the “traditional” option when you’re asked to choose between traditional/localized images and text during installation):

You will, however, need to copy and paste the Cirno.ttf font in your game directory into your “Fonts” folder after you install it if you want the text displayed properly. Apparently, there have been issues with how the previous patch autoinstalled the font, so Rufus decided to let the user install the font manually. Is it just a glitch with the english version, or did the original crash when trying to save a replay from story mode too?

Can’t get the patch to work because when I can’t manage to install the updated version in order to run the patch. Anyone have advice of how to install the 1.50a update?

As far as I am, this was the only thing that didn’t look absolutely fucking perfect.

Is it me, or does it glitch when Lunasa tries to use more than one charge attack?
I can only ever use one charge attack with her and then I can’t charge at all. This is Lv1, btw. I hold z, Level 1 bar, fire it off, and try to do it again but nothing happens.
