It’s a bit slow on the patch front for the time being while we wait for UFO and SWR, so MegaMari turned up as a “why not”?

Prepare to die alot, especially with Youmu’s Hakugyokoro + Higan stage, maybe Eirin’s Eientei stage and Yukari-sama’s stage. I think Cirno’s stage is one of the easier stages barring one adorable Spring Fairy and the last quarter of the stage.

Apparently PoFV translation is nearly complete.

No, it’s the opposite. If there isn’t a lot to translate, then you can translate it quickly, allowing you to maximize the number of games translated.
It’s not like there was a real choice between translating Megamari and Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. Translating SWR must take a hundred times more time than MM so even if they had skipped MM entirely, all you would have gotten is SWR maybe a day earlier.

Don’t even get me started on Eirin’s stage. All those damn pits and rabbits and…ugh…huge pain. Sakuya’s stage is a pain too if you’re bad at timing your jumps. And yeah, I killed Lily White every time I saw her – she makes things so much harder that it’s worth killing her just to make the jumps easier.
So, I nominate Touhou Battle Gaiden as the next random game to be translated.

The PoFV translation is almost complete. According to the thread, all that is remaining is getting the ending translations and inserting them.
On that note, StB is also almost complete. Might even be released today, according to the thread.

Anyway, playing through Megamari now. Definitely doesn’t compare to the original Megaman series (sorry, but it doesn’t), but it’s a good game for what it’s worth.
Megamari much more harder than megaman >.<
Having played megamari a few times, I would say for people who want a good run to go in this order: sakuya(alice powerup), cirno (either), Reimu (marisa), Remilia (alice), Youmu (alice… god that skill is broken), Reisen (either), Eirin (either), yuyuko (alice), yah that doesn’t go in order of weakness, but the powerup from sakuya helps on every stage, and reimu’s also helps alot, + cirno is just plain easy.
…….huh, I’m getting an error when I try to patch the game. I wonder why….
Why would you want to take Sakuya’s weapon with Alice when Marisa gets that incredibly useful time stop-smart bomb that one-hits any non-boss enemy?

This is what I got, if anyone knows how to fix it, I’d love to hear how to do it.
Nobody is replying… this leaves me to assume one of many possibilities…
1.) Nobody WANTS to tell me whats wrong, thus being a jerk. (I hope its not this one)
2.) Nobody else has this problem, which leads me to believe that the patch ISNT complete, and the people of Gensokyo.org lied, as well as the people posting comments saying theyre playing it are lying.
3.) Nobody is visiting this part of the website, which leads me to wonder why they arent…
Well, anyways, I posted what the error was up there or something… please tell me what it is that I need to do to play this game and Animism.
Hopefully you guys will work on the english patch for Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. (my first Touhou game to be exact)
@Zeke: I know! I’m getting a different error, but they’re doing the exact same thing to me (mine is currently “Error patching file: Megamari.exe” and was “d3dx9_25.dll not found” the first two time I tried it)

Damnit, apparently I picked the wrong character on every opportunity, and now I have no clue how to defeat Eirin, other than to play the whole thing again.

Here’s a hint: what is medicine’s greatest enemy? The one thing that it can’t cure completely? The one disease that’s constantly evolving? This logic applies to Eirin. If Eirin’s the medicine, what is one thing she can’t cure?
Just in case you can’t get the first hint, here’s another: you see that picture at the top of this topic, the one with the MegaMari patch example? The boss highlted there is Eirin’s weakness.

Anyways, Im more of a (9) now cause I been trying for 2 days, but I cant even complete a stage as easy as Cirno’s!
PS, a hint… Patchouli is rumored to be a vampire right? Whats the key for beating a vampire? A cross! Try it out on the password screen, you might like it… just dont fill the entire thing with the mushrooms, you get the last stage with nothing BUT the broom…
Well, I don’t know what the problem is for me. Since I got the game from a torrent and there was no indication of there being more to it other than what’s in this one zip file….

Update the DirectX on your computer. Just go to Microsoft’s site and search for DirectX – the web installer there should install all the files you need.

run a search on d3dx9_25.dll. You SHOULD find a download link at a dll site or something. Just stick that in the main folder with megamari and viola!
