Replay Uploader Update!

Some long-planned changes to the replay uploader have been made; feel free to stop by and check it out here!

Read on for a full list of the changes.

Changelog:

  • UFO demo replays can now be uploaded; the demo version number will be displayed on the download page (since this may change with later demo revisions). All demo replays will be completely removed once the full version of UFO is released.
  • Pagination has been updated to limit the number of pages displayed at any given time (thus keeping it from displaying two full lines worth of pages).
  • IN replays coming from non-English versions of the game will now translate character names into English correctly. Existing replays with Japanese names have been corrected.
  • IN spellcard replays will now show the full spellcard name (not just the number) on the replay detail page.
  • Challenges have been changed to special conditions, and three new conditions have been added: No Deaths, Tool-Assisted, and Unmarked Tool Assisted.
  • Searching for runs by special condition is now possible.
  • The comments system has been removed (for lack of interest and spam abuse of the system).
  • Replays can now be flagged as possible tool-assisted runs, if you believe they’re not legitimate; a moderator can review replays flagged in this way to confirm or refute the claim.

If you have suggestions, complaints, or bug reports, please feel free to leave a comment here!

Its always nice to see improvements with the replay uploader. The ability to search for challenges are certainly welcome and so are the uploading capabilities of the UFO demo.

I also like the Unmarked Tool-Assist symbol. A cheese. Totally a suiting symbol for cheating scumbags.

In the future, regarding the replay uploader, wouldn’t it be an idea to automatically enter the high-scores into a leaderboard so we wouldn’t have to post about them in a rather cheasy forum leaderboard? What i’m thinking is kind of like Royalflare does it. That would be sweet.

Anyway, thanks for the hard work. I appreciate your efforts.

It’s already possible to get score leaderboards, although it takes a little playing with the search feature. Simply select game and difficulty and search, then click once on “Score” in the header for the replay list to sort by score. It’ll automatically sort by highest score descending when you do so, and you can just bookmark or copy the link to get back to that particular search/sort at any time.
