Can the patch be directly installed over the 1.0 version?

Yes. There are no problems installing over an existing installation.

    Alrighty. Thanks a lot!

Seriously, the end of February has just been massive, especially for Western Touhou fans. MoF English, SA English, UFO announcement…

    I recently got into IaMP.

I patched it up to v1.11 and the japanese version is running fine. However whenever I want to run the english version if tells me that this version is not patched to 1.11 :\ Any idea why jap.version works and engl.version not?

Are you sure it’s running v1.11? That is, the title bar of the window of the game says that?

The specific check it does at that time is it looks to make sure th075b.dat exists and that th075.exe is at least 2576000 bytes(The correct size is 2576384). If either of these fail, then it will assume it’s not patched.

The problem with the title bar is, that my laptop cant display japanese letters correctly for whatever reason, so what I see there is “CE ûä-2’z`” or something like that. I dont know if that means 1.0 or 1.11 :\

However it is only 2112kb or 2162688byte I assume its not patched … Even though I downloaded the 1.11 patch from the page and ran it (but then again, weird japanese so I dont really know what happened where …)

So basically, am I running v1.0?

Yeah, you’re on v1.0 or whatever. Didn’t get patched up correctly for some reason. Not sure why, but the likely problem is that you probably tried to patch on an English system to a folder that had kanji in it or whatever. Try removing Japanese characters from the folder and repatching.

This better work in Wine now… OR ELSE!…

    …or else I’ll cry myself to sleep tonight ;_;

..I’ve been running it and the netplay client through Wine for a very long time. In fact, I developed most of it in Linux.

I do know that 1.1.12 and 1.1.14 have major problems with it for some reason. 1.1.13 and 1.1.15 are fine, though.

Hm, I wonder. In the previous version I noticed that Alice’s first bad ending has shows number ’32’ when in reality it should be ’23’. Did this patch correct the typo?

  13. mauve
    March 3rd, 2009 | 6:23 pm

    Yes, that typo was fixed.

arielaol’s problem comes from lack of permissions to write to the IaMP directory. Vista requiring escalated user privileges or something. Don’t have Vista here.

The installer will allow you to go forward if it finds both th075.exe and th075.dat in the selected directory. If it doesn’t find these it won’t let you install there. That it wouldn’t let you get past that on a proper IaMP installation is a bit strange, though, and I would suggest you check what you’ve got a little more thoroughly.

Ahhh, so that’s the problem. I changed the name of my .exe file to Touhou 075. So if I change the name back to th075, the patch should work? Thank’s for the help!!!

English patch doesn’t work for me.
    I’m Windows 7 64bit user.
When I try to run th075e.exe it loads something for a bit and then nothing happens.
Without patch it works just fine. It’s only when I’m trying to run th075e.exe.
Tried compatibility modes etc. but didn’t help. Please help.

I’m having the same problem as the above guy, I also have Windows 7 x64… I keep getting the annoying “th075e.exe has stopped Working” error as soon as I try to run IaMP, but the unpatched game runs just fine

I have the exact same problem with SWR, I can play the game but I can’t play it with the english patch installed (I tried with compatibility mode and applocale but nothing works)

    can somebody help?

And a note, you need the latest patch already installed. This replaces the file that came with that patch.

Mauve, you are the greatest person in the history of the world. IJ is a close second for bringing this to him.
