MariAli 2 English Translation Patch v1.0

We’ve got another game patch ready for you today; this time, it’s for Marisa and Alice’s Trap Tower, AKA MariAli 2, from desuno.

MariAli 2 English Translation

You can download the link by clicking on the image above, or on this link if text takes your fancy instead. As usual, read past the break for more information about installation.

The game will need to be fully patched to version 1.03; you can download the patch from desuno’s site; click on the fifth item in the header to get to the Downloads page. There’s also a direct link here – the link for the patch download will be the at the top of the page.

Once you’ve installed the patch, simply point the installer at the game directory to add the translation, as usual.

Credits go out to vgboy for the translation and mauve for hacking, with special thanks to Cup and Talkhaus Fansubs.

Yay, thanks. I just started this game recently and figured that it can be played without knowing japanese. Now that it is translated, this will be much more fun :)

Experiencing a problem where the english patch version worked fine the first time, but after closing the game, I just get an error with some random gibberish, and the game refuses to run. The unpatched Japanese version still works fine though. Anyone else having this problem?

The translated version has basically nothing changed from 1.03 other than some text strings. No idea why it’d have problems.

Spooty, to fix the problem, you have to kill the MariAli2_e.exe process in the task manager. Seems like the game doesn’t shut down like it should.

Huh? Weird. Nobody ever reported a problem with that.

I’ll have to check the insertion script again.

Insertion script is fine, no errors cropping up in it. I’ve heard someone say that the original game would crash sometimes, maybe that has something to do with it.

No idea what causes it, I haven’t even had an error when closing the game (which was done with the title screen option).
If it helps, I am using Win7 x64.

Yeah, after screwing around with the unpatched game, it occasionally has the issue as well. As Name said, it’s an issue with the game occasionally failing to close correctly, and the resulting subsequent error messages on boot are most likely a “Game is already running” error that’s coming out as gibberish because I’m not in JP locale. Manually killing the process in Task Manager fixes it. So not an issue with the translation patch, my bad.

So to any of you guys who were getting that issue, does it ever happen when you don’t do event scenes? Just curious.

And yes, we know about the 1.05 update. There’ll be an update eventually, I just don’t want to push one out every time he makes a new version okay. There’s likely more coming; he confirmed a Summer Comiket update on his twitter.

the patch file doesn’t want to let me continue past pointing where the game’s folder is for some reason. Not entirely certain why.
