Remidoki English Patch v1.0

After a long wait, the English translation of Remidoki – the full title being Ojousama no Dokidoki Daisakusen – is complete and ready for download! The game is a sidescrolling puzzle-based 2D platformer, released by Blue Mica at Comiket 78 in 2010. We’ve been working on the patch for some time, and it’s finally ready for release! You can download the patch at this link, or by clicking on the image above.

You’ll want to make sure the game is fully patched to version 3.1.2 before installing the English patch; you can download the latest update patch for the game here, just click on the link “ダウンロードはこちら(12.5MByte)”.

Major thanks go out to our long-suffering hacker mauve, Halbarad for the image work, Nazerine for the translation and HY for assistance with the translation editing!

I remember playing this quite some time ago, but I didn’t play it all that much because it lagged like hell on my old computer and I didn’t have the slightest idea what the hell was going on. But now that both problems are gone it’s time to get back to it and see how it goes. Nice work, as always.

Can’t install the translation. The program says “Error opening file for writing (…) remidoki_e.exe.”

    April 9th, 2012 | 9:02 am

Windows 7 thing, it likely just doesn’t have write access to the target dir.

I guess I should probably look at that, huh.

  7. April 9th, 2012 | 9:34 am

    > DocAstaroth

You can probably work around this for now by right-clicking on the installer and selecting “Run as administrator”.

Hmm, too bad I don’t actually have this game… THIS UPDATE DOES NOTHING! D:
But it’s always for the people who do have it – so good for them, I suppose? :3

    April 9th, 2012 | 1:44 pm

Yeah I’m on windows 7 and I can’t even get an error. I get as far as selecting file location and it just never lets me even click the okay button. :<

It won’t let you install if the patch is not already applied. The patch unpacks to a subdir so you’ll have to copy it over manually.

We’ll probably be doing a small update for the Win7 thing later.

Silent update with a new package that shouldn’t have installation problems.

The game goes way to fast on my PC. Is there a decent way to slow it down?

So if the 12.5 MB thing is only a patch, where can I get the actual game?

It says the patch is “complete”, but the manual is still untranslated. It looks like it covers some things that aren’t explained in the game.

  22. mauve
    April 14th, 2012 | 12:51 pm

There’s no real reason it wasn’t done other than “we forgot about it”, but honestly there’s nothing much of interest in there. Technically everything in-game is complete!

Admittedly, not knowing about the slow movement button would be a problem, but it’s on the config screen anyway.

  23. Delicious_Aya
    April 14th, 2012 | 5:05 pm

@mauve Too bad I looked at the config screen after I had cleared the main game…
And I can say, I took a lot of extra damage because of that…

Do you need to get an item to use Focus “W”? Pressing or holding W does nothing for me.

  25. Delicious_Aya
    April 16th, 2012 | 6:41 am

@Moekou You’ll need to obtain the ‘Fly’ ability. Focus only works when you’re flying.

According to the bottom of there is a New Game + feature. Is that true or did they just mean Clock Tower? Since a New Game + would be useful in getting some of those achievements…

  28. mauve
    April 17th, 2012 | 9:30 pm

No such mode exists in the final version. I should know, I’ve pored over every single resource this game has!

Beating the game in certain modes will permanently unlock some items, like the ribbon and witch hat, for all playthroughs, so you can use them as soon as you start a new game. The ribbon in particular is handy…

  29. Moekou
    April 17th, 2012 | 11:05 pm

Haha, I see. Do the points in different achievement actually matter, or is it just for looks?
Anyways, I just beat the game, but still am unable to find the key to Storeroom 2 where the Wind-resistance item resides. Does anyone know where it is?

Thanks a lot for your work by the way! ^^

  30. mauve
    April 18th, 2012 | 10:47 am

Achievements are, as far as I can tell, utterly meaningless.

Storeroom 2 key is.. Either in the dining room or the kitchen I think. I remember groaning about having to hunt for it again since I forgot where it was from.

    April 18th, 2012 | 6:36 pm

Thanks once again! This is a really fun and cute game!

    April 18th, 2012 | 9:12 pm

What is the most efficient way to grind those 500,000 points in the endgame for that achievement?

  33. k
    April 18th, 2012 | 9:20 pm

Oh and how do you get Marisa Hat anyways? Wiki says ???

  34. scwizard
    April 19th, 2012 | 12:31 pm

Storeroom 2 key is in the dining room after defeating all the enemies.

Thanks for translating this game. By the way, is it possible to translate Touhou Splinter Cell Code R as well (The 2D version)? I really want to understand its story.
Marisa Hat can be gotten by beating the game once, and then it’s permanently unlocked in Story Mode (New game or Continue).

This is for translation patches only.
