Ten Desires English Patch ver. 1.0
The English patch for Ten Desires is ready!
You can download the patch by clicking the image above (or on this link). You’ll need to be sure that Ten Desires is updated to version 1.00c; you can download the game update patch from ZUN’s website (here) if you need it.
As with the Fairy Wars patch, just point the installer to the folder containing Ten Desires and hit Patch.
Like the other English patches, spellcard names in the results screen will appear in mojibake (scrambled text) until the card has been encountered once after patching, at which point the name will appear correctly in English.

Can I suggest you help translate The Genius of Sappheiros, since it looks like a pretty neat RPG, and there is currently no translation. There is no need to rush since you guys deserve a break, and would really appreciate if you guys planned for other Doujin games translation.

Timothy: I worked on the hacking for the current translation project of that game, but there’s no interest from this group to work on that project, as far as I am aware.
We do have another TH doujin game translation lined up that I can’t give any kind of timetable for, though.

mauve: Ok, as long as someone decides to translate, it is fine with me.
Also, there seems to be a bug in getting the translation of Spellcards and Highscores, as my friends on Facebook seems to have the words in gibberish, like those unsuccessful Japanese words on some computers. It does not affect gameplay, but it is a little troublesome. As far as I can tell, it only affects people who played Ten Desires before patching everything, so I hope the translators can find the root of this problem and perhaps a solution.

@Timothy : I saw the bug you are talking about, however the characters become correct after re-encountering the spell cards. For example, before patching I completed both Easy and Normal difficulties. After patching, I did the first 2 stages of the games on Normal. Now when I look at my Player Data and the Spell Cards, the characters/names are correct for the spell cards I encountered after patching, however they are still “corrupted” for the Easy difficulty and every other spell cards from later stages, which I have not yet encountered while patched.

for some reason, I keep getting patch errors whenever I use it.

Mine patched successfully, but I got a strange bug where the patched version can’t be controlled at all, so I can’t get past the title screen or highlight anything.
The regular version in the same folder still works perfectly.
I had the exact same issue with the patch saying “th13.exe” was missing.
surprisingly, the problem was fixed after I recovered every file involved with TD from the recycle bin including the .dat and .old files made by the patch :S
Somethin’ to try, I guess.
(Do NOT empty your recycle bin if you do this, I pre-emptively searched for TD downloads and you can’t get it from ZUN any more…so be careful)
Youmu has incorrect information on character select. I’ve corrected the wiki, which was somewhat similar, sort of. Both completely miss the special abilities, and in place put something about the focused attack. In reality, it seems to not mention the focused attack mechanics, but rather only mentioned that you can’t shoot during focus, which you do have. As for the special abilities:
During focused movement, the hitbox is extremely small. 低速移動中の当たり判定極端に小さい
During spirit world, attack power is high. 霊界での攻撃力が高い
Fuzzy kanji, but I think they’re right. Just a quick translation, you can alter of course, but it’d definitely be nice to see it in the patch. I glanced at the other characters and they seem fine. Thanks for your work.
I can’t install it correctly… it says something about how there’s 3 files missing and it can’t extract from the .dat file or something…. what’s going on? wait…. I installed it through the disc and there’s no .dat file? what?

I keep getting patch error T_T
not to be picky, but the font isn’t very touhou-ish (im not complaining; at least we have one at all xD ) and the names are untranslated, like hutatsuiwa mamizou should be mamizou futatsuiwa, as in the previous patches, fixing names at the top right of the screen and stoof. :3
I’m also being picky here, since it doesn’t /really/ affect much, but I liked Mononobe’s ye old english :<
Granted, it's easily fixable with the Touhou Toolkit, but still.
I feel like I'm just here to pick apart this thing :< It's still a great patch, like always!

I just patched everything and it said it was successful, but whenever I open up the English Ten Desires, Microsoft immediately gives me an error that ” ‘th13e” encountered a problem and needs to close”. It won’t even load the screen; all I get is a black window for about a second.
Really bugging me cuz I was really looking forward to playing this in English. >: Can anyone help?
(By the way, I have the .dll file in the folder with the English TD, and I have installed the update from ZUN.)

I had the same problem, you just need to install the game in a route that doesn’t have any japanese character, or simply change the name of “that” folder.

Anyone know a download link for the touhou Ten Desires game? (1.00)
Could you add a fix to the .exe or tell a guide how to .exe so it does not disable windows aero while I have the game running?
I get a 403 error when trying to download the patch, is that just me?
